Dust Storm

The karmic wind swept the landscape of life. Feel the power of natural laws. At this time, patience and acceptance are the best antidote. All is changing and all will be good.

Going West

Going west: be luxurious, generous, and bold. In Vajrayana Buddhism, the Five Buddhas Families, also known as the Five Wisdom, represent five distinctive energies. West is red, it is fire, it is lotus; it is magnetizing, and subjugating. It could be seductive.

According to Trungpa Rinpoche, "True Perception", he said:
"True padma (lotus) art is very luscious and colorful, absolutely brilliant color. It also has curves and shapes. One stroke of color doesn't make your mind interested in it, but padma art has curves, like a lotus."

Coil of Joy

This original work is inspired by the simple but elegant Zen art. The energy is moving upward. In a long winter season like this, be aware of our energy. Raise energy through some form of exercise, and relax with the elements.

The Power of Compassion

Chinese calligraphy: "The Power of Compassion" in semi-cursive style. Original work. Unframed.

There is nothing stronger than the power of compassion. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche talked about our innate “original peace,” and what he referred to is a “primordial state of non-aggression.” Compassion brings out our inner peace. It is strong and long-lasting. It is not weak. Its warmth has the most immense power.

Shooting Stars

Shooting stars cross the night sky. When was the last time I stare at the sky? Running around under this infinite winter sky, all my seemingly important activities are so petty and trivial. Breathe in, the cold winter air fills my lungs. How sweet the smell of the fire wood...

Acrylic on rice paper, mounted on board. 17.5 x 17.5 in. Signed with the artist's seal: an image of a rabbit, on the front.

Being Human

Years ago I did an unusual series of some eerie "Face" lithography work- for the joy and suffering of human beings. Still, we see the world is in turmoil, people are bleeding, struggling for a more dignified life. Can we ever have peace? Where will it come from? Can we find deep within ourselves that we all have something good in common? Can we cherish that and trust that?...

For the hope of the world-

Buddha is Not Far Away

Buddha is not far away; buddha (awakenment) is in our everyday life. Every thought, speech and action can be awake and cheerful. Every breath can be joyful. We can help the world by being awake and present in the moment.

In our mind and heart, we already have the the seed of awakening - like the seed waiting for the spring rain to sprout. We all have tremendous goodness inside. It is there, never diminished. We can recognize the goodness and cultivate it.

Chinese calligraphy, "Buddha" in semi-cursive style. Black sumi ink on rice paper. The size is 13 by 14 inches. Signed with the artist's seal "the heart of buddha."

Green Mountains

Memory of spring. An atmosphere of the spring green mountains. Everything is gold. The spring is coming eventually - towards the end of the winter. It has been an unbearable long winter in the North America.

"Composed in Spring" by Robert Burns (1786) :
Come Winter, with thine angry howl,
And raging bend the naked tree;
Thy gloom will soothe my chearless soul,
When Nature all is sad like me!

This green/gold painting is done with acrylic and golden colors on rice paper, mounted on canvas then on board. 21 x 18 in.

Endless Time

People went through some serious illness or other unusual circumstance knowing that time is not really as solid as we think it is. Especially when we recall the past memories of our lives, everything is so vivid; it is like they never diminished in any way.

If the understanding of time is not linear, instead, it is always present, like some people who has been there and come back telling us... Then, we might have more compassion, more forgiveness, more understanding, and less regrettable actions... We might appreciate every moment and everyone more deeply.

What is "time" on this blue horizon? What is the meaning of our life? If is not for love?

Blue Horizon, time is endless. Love is so.

In the Mood for Love

Love doesn't suffocate us. True love requires nothing in return. Love is giving endlessly; love is specious; love is letting go.

From Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche: "Happy Valentine's Day to Everyone. This is a great day to celebrate love. I hope no one is missing love but rather able to embrace love. If we want to embrace love there is the entire universe and infinite beings to do so with. This is as heartwarming and fulfilling as being in love. Love is the light of the world that dispels the darkness of our hearts and brings joy and meaning into our lives. So I hope everyone is celebrating this universal day of love."

In the mood for love - Fire Lotus. Enjoy the heat and warmth of love.

This work: Inspired by the Zen art and Chinese brush stroke painting. Simple marks says a lot. Original etching on acid-free Somerset printing paper. Limited edition of 30. The actual size of the image is 6 by 6 inches, paper size is 11 by 15 inches.

Infinite Circle

Everything has a beginning has an end. A beginning starts beyond time, will end beyond time. Why chase those things will perish in a very short time? Why got tangled and suffered from them? There are things more eternal than the materialistic outlooks. Contentment comes from within.

Medium: Brush and ink drawing on paper
Materials: ink, rice paper, acid-free paper, seal

"Wind"

“The wind blows through the sky and flies over continents without settling anywhere. It traverses space and leaves no trace. Thus should thoughts pass through our minds, leaving no karmic residues and not altering our realization of fundamental simplicity.” ~ H.H. Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

Chinese calligraphy: "Wind" in grass script style. In Chinese and in some Asian cultures, "wind" can mean "chi", which is life force energy. Here, it refers to the cosmic wind. Sumi ink on rice paper. 13 x 17 in. Signed with the artist's seal.
